A WEDDING IN JAIPUR — A CELEBRATION OF LOVE AND LEGACY

Opening Reflection

My wife Anne and I, along with many friends from South Texas, had the privilege of witnessing something truly special in Jaipur — the wedding of Tirthik and Kshama, a young couple whose story reminds us that love, when nurtured early, grows into strength and grace.

How I Know

How do I know that love nurtured early grows into strength and grace? Because we have seen it firsthand in the bridegroom’s parents, Parveen and Shareen Jain. We have known their parents — the late Mr. Harinder Jain and Mrs. Sudesh — for many years, and we have watched this family embody the same values of devotion, respect, and togetherness that now shine in their children. Sudesh continues to instill that love and connectivity of values throughout the family. Having witnessed that love across generations, Anne and I can say with confidence: what begins with affection, when tended with care, becomes a lasting legacy. This sentiment is held by each and every guest who arrived from South Texas.

The Setting — Fairmont Jaipur

The celebration unfolded at Fairmont Jaipur, a palatial setting where tradition met elegance. For three days, the halls, courtyards, and terraces came alive with color, music, and laughter — a royal blend of beauty and emotion that only Jaipur could host so gracefully.

Legacy Continued

This wedding was not merely about two hearts uniting; it was about a legacy continued. The warmth and vision of Parveen and Shareen were felt in every thoughtful detail — from the hospitality extended to each guest, to the way they lovingly honored the memory of the late Mr. Harinder Jain and the values that the matriarch, Sudesh, holds and continues to guide the family lovingly.

Across Generations

Anne and I were especially touched by how effortlessly love flowed across generations — parents, children, and friends all joined by shared dreams and enduring affection. Watching Parveen and Shareen see their son begin his own journey, we felt that this celebration reflected life’s most beautiful rhythm: from building to belonging, from legacy to love.

A Thought That Stayed

As the music faded and the lights dimmed on the second day evening, or correct to say the third day morning, one thought stayed with all of us:

“A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.” — Mignon McLaughlin

A Blessing Across Generations

And under the Jaipur night sky, we silently added — sometimes, the love of one generation becomes the blessing of the next.

Gratitude to the Teams

Finally, we must express our deep appreciation to the Fairmont Jaipur team — the wedding event management, a Mumbai-based company with about 50 staff at the wedding. Nearly 500 hotel staff members and many vendors, along with dedicated coordinators, handled every detail with affection, loyalty, and unmatched professionalism. Their warmth turned grandeur into grace and made every guest feel like family.

Pink City Memory

Jaipur — the Pink City — glowed brighter that weekend, and Fairmont became not just a venue but a memory etched forever in our hearts. It was truly an unforgettable place, an unforgettable event.
